Winter
Almost done with a limited run of hand printed CD envelopes for our new remix EP. It's takin' a while, so don't expect it for your next winter holiday, but it'll be out soon, we promise, and it sounds great. Much thanks to our newest member, Nicole, for her screen printing expertise.
And, we've officially started work on album 2. Chris tracked some drums and we're looking to do more over the next couple of weeks. Almost all the songs are written, and many have been around for a while. Looking forward to get this down on the proverbial wax (or bits).
Summer
Thanks to everyone who saw us in Georgetown yesterday. It turned out to be a great event and just a great day to be in Seattle. Good to hear a bit of the Redwood Plan and H is for Hellgate and the Black Whales (I think) between loading gear and trying to find the "backstage" beer tent (which required drawing a penis on a poster ala Superbad).
Sad to say, I think that was Tim's last show with us. We'll have a tough time finding a replacement for his many talents.
New and Improved
Finally, after many months, the whole band has been able to practice at the same time. We're really excited about our new cello player, Tracy. Come check us out at the March 5 show at the Sunset.
Departures
Sad to report that our violinist and glockenspielist, Katie, is leaving Lucy Bland. She will be playing her last shows with us this month. And after that we'll be searching for some new string players.
Also sad to hear of the split of The Hungry Pines, some of our best musical pals.
3 Imaginary Girls write-up! Bland and Blue Skies
Hey everyone, Three Imaginary Girls wrote some very nice stuff about us on their blog. They also mentioned that they plan to do a full review! Totally Wizard! Check it.

What if Bjork grew up in Ballard? That is a really reductive and deceptive way of describing
her sound, but Lucy Bland has an incandescent one, and it encompasses more than someone somewhat inspired by an Icelandic avant-pop airport-brawler playing synth and singing sweetly on Market Street for spare change.
